Universal Studios Hollywood has called a halt to World Cup viewing parties at CityWalk for the rest of the tournament, officials said this weekend.

“Our CityWalk soccer viewing parties have concluded for the remainder of the tournament. We thank you for showing your fandom, and we hope you’ll continue to enjoy CityWalk’s shopping, dining, and movie experiences,” the company said in a social media post Saturday.

No reason was given for the decision, but concerns about large crowds and security likely prompted the move.

Multiple watch parties remained on the schedule in the Los Angeles County area for Sunday’s two matches and future World Cup contests.

The tournament ends on July 19, with the final match played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
