Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood will feature a scare zone inspired by the popular video game Fortnite for the first time when this year’s event opens this fall, officials announced Wednesday.
Inspired by Fortnite’s annual Halloween event, “Fortnitemares,” the attraction will immerse guests in a scare zone called “Freaky Fields,” where they will encounter the game’s iconic Battle Bus, familiar Fortnitemares characters and new creatures created exclusively for Halloween Horror Nights, according to Universal.
“Fortnite is a global ecosystem where players create, compete, and hang out with friends in an always-evolving world,” Universal Studios said in a statement. “It’s highly-anticipated fall in-game event, `Fortnitemares,’ brings new characters and horror-themed gameplay together every year.”
Halloween Horror Nights opens Sept. 3 and runs select nights through Nov. 1.
The Fortnite-themed scare zone joins a growing lineup for this year’s event that includes haunted houses based on the upcoming film “Evil Dead Burn,” the horror movie “Sinners,” Netflix’s “Stranger Things” and the “Hellraiser” franchise.
The “Hellraiser” attraction marks the first time the franchise has been featured at Halloween Horror Nights.
Universal has said additional haunted houses and attractions will be announced before the event opens.
