The Santa Ana (5) Freeway will be closed in both directions between Carmenita Road and Valley View Avenue from 1-7 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Crews will begin closing ramps and lanes and setting k-rail concrete barriers at 10 p.m. Friday. There will be partial closures from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Caltrans announced Thursday.
The closures are part of the $1.8 billion I-5 South Corridor Improvement Projects which will ultimately add one carpool lane and one general lane between the Los Angeles/Orange County line and Interstate 605, said Maria Raptis of Caltrans.
