An eight-inch cast iron water main ruptured Wednesday afternoon, cutting water service to 25 Granada Hills homes, according to the Department of Water and Power.
The break was reported about 2 p.m. at San Fernando Mission Road and Louise Street, said MaryAnne Pierson of the DWP.
She said the break was expected to be fixed quickly. She said she did not know how many gallons of water were lost, but pointed out that no streets had to be closed to facilitate the repair work.
