The 126th Rose Parade may be eight days away, but police are already reminding people of the parade rules that will be enforced along Colorado Boulevard.

No overnight camping or staking out of parade-watching spots will be allowed until noon on Wednesday. No one can occupy the coveted blacktop between the curb and the blue “honor line” next to the parade route until 11 p.m. that night, New Year’s Eve.

Small and “professionally-made” barbecues must be elevated one foot above ground and are allowed on the parade route only if they are located more than 25 feet from buildings or other flammable materials. Persons barbecuing must have a fire extinguisher as well.

The City of Pasadena will answer patrons’ questions on a phone hotline next Monday and until Friday, starting at 8 a.m. each day. Calls will be taken until 5 p.m. Monday, 4 p.m. Tuesday, 7 p.m. Wednesday, and 4 p.m. both Thursday and Friday.

The number is (877) 793-9911.
