Art Fein’s 28th annual Elvis Birthday Bash, celebrating what would have been Elvis Presley’s 80th birthday, will be held Thursday at the Avalon Hollywood, 1735 Vine St.
Los Angeles City Councilman Tom LaBonge is expected to attend. Proceeds will benefit Sister Cities of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Fire Department Historical Society and the LAPD Hollywood Police Activities League.
About 30 bands are expected to perform, including: Alias Means, Carla Olson, Donna Loren, Groovy Rednecks, Joe Finkle, Merle Jagger, Rockin’ Rebels, Swamp Dogg and Troy Walker.
The Elvis Birthday Bash Band, featuring Dave Raven, Harry Orlove, Marty Rifkin, Paul Marshall and Skip Edwards will also perform.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m.; event from 5 to 9 p.m.
