Power went out again Saturday to Southern California Edison customers in the Point Dume area of Malibu.
Signals were reportedly out on Pacific Coast Highway at Heathercliff Drive and Paradise Cove. Sheriff’s deputies were directing traffic in the rain there.
It was at least the third outage in the area in recent months, residents said.
Southern California Edison officials said 2,233 residential and business accounts lost service at 1:09 p.m. There was no estimate for when repairs would be completed.
High winds were blowing when power went out in the same area on Dec. 31. And on Oct. 22, the area was blacked out when an underground transformer that had just been replaced failed in an explosion-like electrical fire.
