Beverly Hills police Chief David Snowden is retiring, effective June 13, the city announced Tuesday.
Snowden has been the city’s top cop since 2004. He was chief of the Costa Mesa Police Department from 1986 to 2003, and chief of the Baldwin Park Police Department from 1980 to 1986.
“Our residents and businesses have benefited tremendously from Dave’s commitment to providing the community with the finest in public safety,” said Beverly Hills Mayor Julian Gold.
During Snowden’s tenure, the Beverly Hills Police Department launched and expanded high-tech public safety programs, including a citywide system of security cameras.
No succession plan was immediately announced.
