Nearly 800 Southern California Edison customers in Torrance and Gardena were without power Thursday afternoon due to an outage that initially affected almost 1,800 customers.
The outage, which began about 10:35 a.m., was caused by damaged underground equipment, said SCE spokesman Robert Villegas.
The estimated time of restoration was 5 p.m., he said.
The outage area was bordered by 177th Street to the north, 190th Street to the south, Normandie Avenue to the east and Western Avenue to the west, Villegas said.
