Metro trains will have extra cars and will continue to run two hours past midnight Saturday night, to help carry Fourth of July celebrants.

MTA officials said the holiday fireworks and civic Independence Day parties at Grand Park, Exposition Park and in Long Beach will cause a heavier- than-normal passenger load.

Trains on the Red, Purple, Blue and Expo lines are normally shorter-then- usual on weekend days, but not Saturday.

The rail lines will be running their normal Saturday schedules.

The Metro Orange and Silver bus lines will be running Sunday/holiday schedules Saturday, but will run through 2 a.m., Metro officials said.
