Police on Friday sought witnesses to a two-vehicle collision in Long Beach that killed a 19-year-old Lynwood woman.
The crash occurred about 9:45 p.m. Thursday at the intersection East Ocean Boulevard and Falcon Avenue, said Nancy Pratt of the Long Beach Police Department.
The woman was a passenger in a 2003 Ford Mustang driven by a 19-year-old South Gate man who was attempting to make a left turn from eastbound Ocean Boulevard to northbound Falcon Avenue, police said.
The Mustang was struck by a 2004 Hyundai Sonata being driven west on Ocean Boulevard by a 17-year-old Long Beach resident, police said.
A witness attempted life-saving measures on the woman, who was ejected from the Mustang, until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived. She died at a hospital.
Her name was withheld, pending notification of relatives.
The Mustang’s driver suffered unspecified injuries and was also taken to a hospital, according to Long Beach police.
Anyone with information about the crash was urged to call the LBPD’s Collision Investigation Detail at (562) 570-7355.
