A brush fire scorched about 15 acres in the Castaic area Friday afternoon and resulted in the closure of three northbound lanes of the Golden State (5) Freeway.
The fire was reported about noon near the northbound 5 at Templin Highway. Two SuperScooper airplanes and five helicopters were sent to the scene, the county fire department reported.
The fire was put out about 2 p.m., said Nathan Judy of the U.S. Forest Service.
