A bear caused a stir in a La Canada Flintridge neighborhood Wednesday when it perused the area, waded in a swimming pool and napped for several hours in a tree before climbing down and heading back into the wild.
The animal appeared about 10 a.m. in the general area of the 4600 block of Palm Terrace Court, according to a lieutenant at the Los Angeles County sheriff’s Crescenta Valley Station.
TV news footage showed the creature taking a brief dip in a home’s swimming pool at one point.
News helicopters hovered above as the female bear, which was tagged during a previous visit to a residential neighborhood, snoozed in a backyard tree in the 5100 block of Jarvis Avenue.
The bear climbed down from the tree and headed back into the mountains around 6 p.m., according to a Department of Fish and Game tweet.
