The community-based navigation and travel internet app Waze announced the creation of a new routing feature aimed at helping users avoid one of driving’s biggest nuisances: difficult intersections.
The feature — introduced Friday in the Southland — is designed to calculate the best possible route in an attempt to bypass a crowded intersection, when it’s possible to do so.
Waze’s local map editors researched area traffic patterns and conducted polls to identify which intersections cause Angelenos the most pain at given times of the day and provide alternate solutions, the company said.
The Los Angeles area is the only region in which the app is available, but greater New Orleans is not far behind, Waze said.
