The Fourth of July had extra meaning for four fortunate people Monday as they had managed to get out with only minor injuries after their small plane crashed on takeoff near Wrightwood

“The plane got about 30 feet up then crashed on the tarmac,” said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Reich, whose first name was not provided.

FAA spokesman Ian Gregor told City News Service the plane hit a tree, crashed and burned.

“It does not appear that any of the four people on board were seriously injured,” Gregor said.

There were no other details available about the crash.
