Mega Millions

A ticket with all six numbers in the multi-state Mega Millions draw was sold in Indiana and its owner must decide whether to take the $540 million jackpot spread out over 30 years or $380 million.

Ten tickets with five numbers, but missing the Mega number, were sold, none in California, the Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the game, announced. Each of those tickets are worth $1 million.

The jackpot was the third largest in the history of the game that began in 1996 as the Big Game and was renamed Mega Millions in 2002.

The numbers drawn tonight were 8, 19, 20, 55, 73 and the Mega number was 5.

The drawing was the 35th since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 258,890,850, according to the Mega Millions website. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 14.71.

The Mega Millions game is played in 44 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. Virgin Islands.

The jackpot for Tuesday’s draw will be $15 million.
