Ghosts, crabs and racy pumpkins: It’s late October in Southern California and time for a great, fun weekend. Here are our top 10 adventures for Oct. 21-23. Boo!

Friday, Oct 21

SoCal Ghosts and Where to Find Them (books): Get the scoop in-person on SoCal ghosts with special guest Richard Carradine and panel members from Planet Paranormal and North Orange Paranormal. The event is free but capacity is limited so early arrival is recommended. The event starts at 8 p.m. at The Last Bookstore, 453 S. Spring St. Los Angeles.

Food and Wine Celebration (festival): Possibly two of the greatest things are being celebrated all weekend long and the kick off is Friday night. Experience a variety of food and wine including intimate wine dinners, a luncheon celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Robert Mondavi and specialty seminars led by award-winning chefs and winemakers. You can get your tickets here starting at $50. Friday nights event start at 6 p.m. at Terranea Resort, 100 Terranea Way, Rancho Palos Verdes.

Zootopia (screening): Come watch the quirky Disney animated film ‘Zootopia’ at the downtown harbor in San Pedro. The screening is free and starts at 6:30 p.m., 504 S. Harbor Blvd.

Saturday, Oct. 22

Vegan Taco Competition (food): If you’re vegan, or even if you just enjoy the food, you should check out this taco competition featuring chefs from all over LA. You can get your tickets here for $20. The competition starts at noon at Café Gratitude, 639 N. Larchmont Blvd, Los Angeles.

Artisanal L.A. Fall Show (festival): Get a jump start on your holiday shopping and support local food artisans, crafters and makers. You can get your tickets for the two-day event here for $10 or $15 at the door. The show starts at 11 a.m. at the California Market Center, 110 E. Ninth St. Los Angeles.

CrabFest (fundraiser): Enjoy all you can eat snow crab legs and side dishes prepared by Starry Kitchen (one of LA Times 101 best LA restaurants) as well as a special brew just for the fest by Three Weavers Brewing Company. Funds raised will support the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center. Get your tickets here for $75 or $90 at the door. The fest starts at 5 p.m. at the Nishi Hongwanji Betsuin, 815 E. First St., Los Angeles.

Sunday, Oct. 23

Halloween and Mourning Tours (festival): Explore death and Halloween with this tour, featuring a séance, tours of a Victorian funeral and Halloween history. You can get your tickets here for $20. The tours start at noon at Heritage Square Museum, 3800 Homer St., Los Angeles.

Folk Herbalism, Interactive + Fun Workshop (workshop): Have you ever wanted to learn how to make homemade cider or tea? Well now you can with this interactive workshop. You can get your tickets here starting at $25. The class starts at 10 a.m. at Kinship Studios, 5612 N. Figueroa St., Los Angeles. Happy brewing!

BunnyFest (festival): If you’re a bunny lover, you should check out this festival featuring a huge silent auction and market, basket raffle, food, and baked goods. There will also be adoptable bunnies! The event starts at noon at the Bunny Luv Rabbit Resource Center, 16742 Stagg St., Van Nuys.

Pumpkin Race (festival):  A real pumpkin race! Dress in your best costume, participate in family activities for all ages and make your own pumpkin race car. The race is free and starts at noon at Manhattan Beach Pier, 2 Manhattan Beach Blvd.
