Don’t try driving south on the Golden State (5) Freeway Thursday night as you’ll run into a traffic nightmare as the roadway will be shut down.
A stretch of the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway will be closed overnight Thursday in the Norwalk area as Caltrans crews continue construction on a new Florence Avenue bridge.
The southbound 5 will be closed between the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway and Norwalk Boulevard beginning at 10 p.m. and continuing until 5 a.m. Friday.
According to Caltrans, the northbound and southbound 605 ramps to the southbound 5 will be closed from 9 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday. Florence Avenue will also be closed between Orr & Day Road and Studebaker Avenue from 9:30 p.m. Thursday until 5:30 a.m. Friday.
