An 8-inch water main ruptured Friday in the Fairfax Village area, flooding a street and knocking out service to about 40 customers, including a number of restaurants and other businesses.
The problem was reported about 4 a.m. in the 600 block of La Cienega Blvd., according to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
Crews shut off the flow of water and worked to repair the pipe and a section of the roadway that was damaged.
