Fire damaged a two-story condominium in Sherman Oaks Monday and three people were evaluated for non-life threatening medical complaints, authorities said.

The fire was reported at 4:16 a.m. in a unit of a two-story garden style building over parking at 5115 North Kester Avenue, Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The fire appeared to have started on the first floor and extended into the second floor but was contained to the unit of origin, Stewart said.

All occupants of the unit were out and accounted for when firefighters arrived, she said. An adult and three teenagers were evaluated by paramedics.

It took 33 firefighters 19 minutes to put out the flames, Stewart said.
