It took firefighters more than two hours to put out a five acre brush fire near a mobile home park in Sylmar, but there were no injuries or damage to nearby structures, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire was reported at 12:35 a.m. on the 16000 block of West Yarnell Street, said fire department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.

It was initially reported as a “wires down” incident but was later designated a brush fire.

With 62 firefighters on the scene, the fire was knocked down as of 2:38 a.m., Stewart said.
