Actor Michael B. Jordan will host a fundraiser Saturday in Hollywood benefiting Lupus LA and seeking to raise awareness for the organization and disease.
The second annual MBJAM18, described by organizers as “an afternoon of family fun” with games, activities and food, will be held from 4-7 p.m. at Dave & Busters. Tickets are $200, with each ticket admitting two children under 12 years old.
Jordan’s mother Donna has been diagnosed with lupus and has been aided by Lupus LA, which has raised more than $10 million since 2000 for its patient programs, local rheumatology fellowships and research partners at the Lupus Research Alliance.
Lupus is an autoimmune disease that triggers inflammation in different tissues of the body, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Lupus can affect any part of the body, including the skin and major organs,causing pain and damage..
