U.S. Navy Master Chief Petty Officer Corey Antonio Guy of Harbor City will be honored as the Military Hero of the Game as the Los Angeles Dodgers face the San Francisco Giants Monday evening at Dodger Stadium.
Guy is the Command Master Chief for the 5th Navy Expeditionary Logistics Regiment at Naval Base Ventura County. He joined the Navy in 1988 and served with the Naval Expeditionary Logistics Support Group and Explosive Ordinance Disposal Group in the Middle East and Asia.
Guy has also served on numerous global missions in direct support of Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and the Global War on Terror. He is scheduled to retire in December.
Guitarist and former “Tonight Show” band leader Kevin Eubanks will perform the national anthem.
The game will also mark the resumption of in-seat beer service at Dodger Stadium.
The in-seat beer vendors will operate on all levels of Dodger Stadium. They will accept both cash and credit cards from fans 21 years of age and older with valid identification. Both domestic and premium beer will be available.
The return of in-seat beer service was made possible by a recent modification to Dodger Stadium’s liquor license by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, a team official said.
The three-game series starting Monday evening will also include a Rich Hill bobblehead giveaway to the first 40,000 ticketed fans in attendance Tuesday and Laker Night Wednesday with a ticket package combining a ticket to the game and a Dodgers-Lakers three-quarter sleeve shirt available at Dodgers.com/Lakers.
