Flames tore through the first floor of a hillside Silver Lake home Sunday, authorities said.
The fire was reported at 1:28 a.m. on the 1900 block of North Redesdale Avenue, Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.
The 31 firefighters took a defensive stance after the fire burned through the first floor of the three-story home, Stewart said. At least one nearby structure was protected from damage.
The flames were out at 1:58 a.m., she said.
A woman who owned the home got out of the burning structure and was evaluated by paramedics but she declined further care, Stewart said. No other injuries were reported.
