An autopsy was pending Tuesday on a Lancaster man who died in a car in Lebec in Kern County, coroner’s officials said.
Zhirayr Gezalyan, 81, was pronounced dead at the scene, California Highway Patrol Officer Stephan Brandt said. It appeared he suffered a medical emergency.
Gezalyan pulled his car over to the side of Lancaster Road at Gorman Post Road about 9:45 a.m. Sunday, Brandt said, adding that Los Angeles County paramedics responded and tried in vain to revive the man.
