A fire in one unit of a downtown Los Angeles hotel was extinguished by firefighters in just 23 minutes Saturday morning.

Crews responded at 3:40 a.m. to the Barclay Hotel at 103 W. Fourth St., and located flames in a second floor unit of the six story building, according to Amy Bastman of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

A total of 37 firefighters battled the flames, which were held in check by sprinklers, she said.
