A two-alarm fire Tuesday morning destroyed a warehouse in Gardena used to store glass pipes and purses.

Firefighters responded about 12:30 a.m. to the 1600 block of West 144th Street, just east of Western Avenue and about two blocks west of the Harbor (110) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The first units to arrive found heavy smoke and fire coming from the building and called for the second alarm, LACFD Battalion Chief Brian Bennett told NBC4.

The fire does not appear to be suspicious, but the cause was under investigation, Bennett said.

No injuries were reported.
