A woman was killed Monday when her vehicle apparently rolled over on the right shoulder of the Foothill (210) Freeway in Claremont, authorities said.
The crash was reported about 1:25 a.m. on the westbound Foothill Freeway west of Baseline Road, the California Highway Patrol reported. The vehicle came to rest on its roof and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said.
The vehicle may have been the only one involved in the crash but that was not immediately determined, CHP Officer Tony Polizzi said. A witness reported the vehicle appeared to have been driven recklessly prior to the crash.
A SigAlert was issued at 2:10 a.m. shutting down lanes 2 and 3 of the westbound Foothill Freeway for the investigation.
