A collision involving at least four big rigs and another vehicle prompted the closure Friday morning of four lanes of the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway just before the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway until about 9 a.m.
The first calls to the California Highway Patrol came in about 5:15 a.m. and indicated at least four big rigs and a pickup truck had crashed and one semi jack-knifed and was blocking lanes of traffic, according to the CHP.
A SigAlert was issued for the carpool and Nos. 1, 2, and 3 lanes of the northbound Golden State Freeway until about 9 a.m.
It was unclear if anyone was injured in the crash.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
