Firefighters Monday took about an hour to hold back damage from a brush fire in Lake View Terrace next to the Foothill (210) Freeway.
The fire was reported at 10:41 p.m. in the 12200 block of West Foothill Boulevard, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
It originally threatened a single-story concrete commercial building and had moderate spread in heavy vegetation, Humphrey said. The structure was not damaged.
At 11 p.m., forward progress had been stopped at about one-acre with efforts underway to put out the flames, he said.
No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.
The flames were reported out at 11:40 p.m., Humphrey said.
Fire trucks cleared the right lanes of the eastbound Foothill Freeway so normal traffic flow could resume.
