Fire devoured a vacant home in the Green Meadows area of South Los Angeles Thursday morning.
Firefighters responded to the 900 block of East 87th Place about 5:20 a.m. and located the fire burning in the crawl space under the floor and inside the structure, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A total of 26 firefighters moved their equipment around a long trench down one side of the home and extinguished the blaze in just 24 minutes, he said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
