A candle may have caused a fire in a North Long Beach home Saturday that displaced three residents, authorities said.
The fire was reported at 4:04 p.m. in the 300 block of East 67th Way, firefighter Jake Heflin said. A caller told dispatchers they had left a candle burning inside the house, Heflin said.
Arriving units saw smoke coming from the eaves of the home. The fire was extinguished by 4:14 p.m., Heflin said.
The flames were confined to one bedroom but the rest of the house sustained significant smoke damage, he said.
There were no injuries reported.
This was the third reported house fire of the day in Long Beach.
