A fire truck was struck by a vehicle while responding to a reported collision Thursday in Highland Park, but no firefighters were hurt, authorities said.
California Highway Patrol began investigating reports a motorcyclist was darting through traffic to retrieve a downed bike around 7 a.m. along the southbound 110 Freeway at Avenue 60.
At 7:13 a.m., Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters arrived on the scene where their engine was struck by another vehicle, according to LAFD spokesperson Margaret Stewart.
No firefighters were injured in the crash, she said.
The incident had blocked all traffic lanes by 7:18 a.m.
A minute later, California Highway Patrol called a tow truck to come and get a Honda Civic.
Officers began reopening traffic lanes at 7:23 a.m.
