An explosion was reported Friday at a Playa Vista apartment complex, but arriving firefighters found only smoke coming from two ground-level generators and no sign of fire, authorities said.
Firefighters were dispatched at 2:45 p.m to 12490 Fielding Circle on an incident “called in as an explosion,” Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.
After checking the smoke, firefighters determined there was no threat to involved structures, and secured the area while waiting for the LA Department of Water and Power to arrive, Stewart said.
No injuries were reported, she said.
