It took 20 minutes for firefighters to put out a fire in a second-floor apartment of a four-story, Mid-City building Saturday, authorities said.

The fire was reported at about 3 p.m. in a building at 1521 S. Hayworth Ave., Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said. The building consisted of three apartment stories over parking.

Smoke was showing when firefighters arrived, she said. They isolated the fire to one unit and put it out, Stewart said.

No injuries were reported and the cause and amount of loss were yet to be determined, she said.
