The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped Sunday for the 51st time in the past 53 days, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.607, its lowest amount since Aug. 30.

The average price has decreased 45.1 cents over the past 53 days, including three-tenths of a cent Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

It is 3.2 cents less than one week ago and 23.2 cents lower than one month ago, but 25.2 cents higher than one year ago.
