A corrections officer believed heading to work at the Lancaster State Prison was killed in a crash with a vehicle, authorities said Wednesday.
The crash was reported at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Avenue J and Valley Central Way, Sgt. Michael Bryerton of the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station said.
He was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Bryerton said.
The crash was under investigation, the sergeant said.
