A Santa Monica home was left uninhabitable by a non-injury fire that tore through the structure, a fire department official said Friday.

The blaze inside the two-story house at 2634 Sixth Street was reported at 2:09 p.m. Thursday, Santa Monica Fire Department Capt. Patrick Nulty said.

The department sent 31 firefighters to the scene and knocked down the flames in about 17 minutes, Nulty said.

The house was deemed uninhabitable because of the fire damage.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation, he said.
