At least one person was killed in a four-vehicle crash on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway in Hawthorne Tuesday evening.
The crash was reported at the Rosecrans Avenue exit about 9:45 p.m. and prompted the closure of all northbound lanes of the freeway at the Inglewood Avenue on-ramp, where traffic was being taken off the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Witnesses reported one person was laying on the ground next to a vehicle involved in the crash, the CHP said.
The northbound lanes of the San Diego Freeway at Inglewood Avenue will be closed until further notice.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
