A fire in the vent and walls of three-story apartment building in Palms was extinguished by firefighters in 26 minutes Monday evening with no injuries reported.

Firefighters responded to 10770 Lawler St., west of Overland Avenue, at 9:34 p.m. and found fire coming from a roof vent, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

“One bathroom contained a small amount of fire in the ducting near a fan motor,” Prange said. “(A total of) 26 firefighters located and extinguished the fire in the vent and walls in 26 minutes.”

Knock down was declared at 10 p.m.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
