A person was transported to an area hospital Sunday morning from a fire at a back storage shed at a home in Shadow Hills that contained ammunition.

“The homeowner reported ammunition was stored in the shed, which explains the noise heard by neighbors,” said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters dispatched at 6:18 a.m. to the 9000 block of North Sunland Boulevard had the fire out within 16 minutes of their arrival, Stewart said.

“Please avoid this section of Sunland Boulevard because the hydrant supply line is still currently blocking the street,” she said.

A cause of the fire was under investigation.
