Fire damaged a vacant commercial building in the Hyde Park area Wednesday morning before being extinguished by firefighters in less than 30 minutes.
The fire was reported at 12:41 a.m. in the 2700 block of West Florence Avenue, near Seventh Avenue, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“Firefighters encountered heavy fire in the upper portion, possibly a large attic, of a vacant one-story commercial building,” Humphrey said.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in 29 minutes and a knockdown was declared at 1:10 a.m., Humphrey said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
