It took 35 firefighters 23 minutes to put out flames in a unit of a large Woodland Hills apartment complex Saturday, authorities said.
The fire was reported at 3:27 p.m. at 22100 West Victory Blvd., Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange said.
Smoke was showing from the third floor of one building when firefighters arrived, Prange said.
Once they determined the fire was in the kitchen of one unit, firefighters used ropes to pull hose lines to the unit rather than punching a hole in the roof to put water on flames, he said.
The flames were out at 3:50 p.m., Prange said. No injuries were reported.
