Forty firefighters extinguished a blaze in a Mid-City triplex in about 15 minutes Wednesday evening.

Firefighters arrived at the two-story triplex in the 2000 block of South Longwood Avenue, near Washington Boulevard, at 7:36 p.m., according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire was burning in a unit on the second story, but firefighters prevented it from spreading to other units and the attic, Stewart said.

The blaze was extinguished at 7:53 p.m., and no injuries were reported, according to Stewart.
