A trash fire at a homeless encampment briefly threatened a commercial building in Baldwin Park Friday afternoon before being extinguished.

No one was injured in the fire, which was reported about 1:35 p.m. in the 1500 block of North Virginia Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Crews kept the flames from spreading into the structure, and had the blaze out by about 1:45 p.m., said county fire’s Sean Ferguson.
