Crews Tuesday kept a blaze that started in the patio area of a San Fernando fourplex from causing major structural damage.

The non-injury fire was reported at 5:07 p.m. at the two-story fourplex in the 900 block of North Griswold Avenue, near the Pacoima Wash, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire “minimally extended” beyond the patio into the back of the building before being extinguished in 32 minutes by nearly three dozen firefighters, he said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
