Maintenance work will prompt closure of the Metro Green Line between the Crenshaw and Redondo Beach stations beginning Friday evening and continuing through Monday morning, a closure that will impact people using the LAX G Shuttle, officials said Friday.
The work, involving signal maintenance, will begin at 9 p.m. and continue through 3 a.m. Monday, and will affect seven rail stations, according to an alert from Los Angeles World Airports.
Metro will replace the rail service with a free bus to serve the stations, which include Avation/LAX Station. The closure will take place until regular opening time Monday morning.
Free Metro bus shuttle service connecting those Metro stations will be provided from the Crenshaw Station and the Redondo Beach Station. The Crenshaw Station will remain open for eastbound boarding and westbound arrivals on the Green Line.
The LAX G Shuttle, which provides service between the airport terminals and the Aviation/LAX Station, will continue to run from that station between 5 a.m. and midnight during the weekend closure.
LAX officials encourage Green Line riders heading to the airport during the service interruption to plan ahead and allow additional time. Riders can get real-time location information on the G Shuttle at www.ridelax.com.
