A 75-year-old woman who suffers from partial blindness and early stages of dementia and was reported missing after last being seen in Bellflower has been found, authorities said Friday morning.

Teretha Jones-Winters was last seen in the 16000 block of Woodruff Avenue about 2:15 p.m. Thursday, according to Deputy Marvin Crowder of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The California Highway Patrol issued a Silver Alert on behalf of the sheriff’s department for Jones-Winters about 3 a.m. and announced just before 6 a.m. she had been found.

Details of when and where Jones-Winters was located were not immediately disclosed.

The purpose of the Silver Alert program is to establish a quick response system designed to issue and coordinate alerts following the unexplained or suspicious disappearance of an elderly person, or a person who is developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired, according to the CHP.
