The Los Angeles Fire Department searched for nearly two hours Monday evening for a person reported to have fallen into the Tujunga Wash in Arleta.

Rescue crews, both on the ground and in helicopters, were sent out around 7 p.m. to search the Los Angeles River from Arleta to downtown Los Angeles, according to Nicholas Prang of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

“We looked up and down many miles,” Prang said. “We never saw a patient and we’re unable to confirm if there was one.”

The search will resume if the person is sighted, Prang said.
