Firefighters extinguished a fire in a vacant home in South Los Angeles in 14 minutes Monday evening.
Crews responded to 206 E. 53rd St., between Main and San Pedro streets, at 10:39 p.m. and encountered flames coming from the rear of the home, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A total of 36 firefighters extinguished the flames. A knock down was declared at 10:53 p.m., Prange said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
